I don't know. I believe in God and I go to church. If I need something I pray. I do it whether it works or not. But I guess if I believe in God and I do pray, then I have to believe it works.

I was born and raised a christian and to me its the biggest heap of crap.

Its wrong to kill another foe, but its okay as long as god tells you to do it.
Its okay to disobey as long as god tells you to do it.

Religion isn't based on god, its basied on people and how they like things to be done.

tbh this doesn't have anything to do with praying. and God cant actually talk to people anyways.

I think praying works if you believe it will work.

So, just believing that praying will work is enough so that it works?
What does God have to do with that then?

Praying does work. My own example: I found a ring last year in school and a girl was going around saying she lost it. She described the ring perfectly and I didn't give it to her. I kept it, because I liked it. A while back I was praying for God to take away my sins/keep me away from sin/not fall into the general sin thing and the next day I wore the ring to school and lost it. [NO not on purpose if thats what you think!] So I told my mom and she said that my praying worked. Sorry thing is I was attacked again by evil spirits and the ring was returned to me. Laughing
....
I sound like a religious freak dont I? I dont care I like being the way I am. :] And thats not the only proof I have. So, blah.

I believe it works if you pray in faith. But people mostly pray in need...

Can You Say OBSESSED:
It's a matter of faith.

Just because it's not proven that God did something, doesn't mean it didn't happen at the hands of God.

It doesn't mean it did either. =)

Can You Say OBSESSED:
That's the whole point of faith, believing in something even when there isn't proof and people don't always agree with you.

Nobody knows if something happened- or didn't- due to prayer, but religion and prayer is a matter of faith.

It's too easy to say "it's all about faith" to me.
I was quoting that person first, who said:

robotchicken.:
Praying does work.

You can't say that just because few weird things happened to you.
It reminds me of Pablo Francisco, in his show when he says "Latinos see the Virgin Mary everywhere like:
- Wait! Hold on! Move the beans!.......... Move the rice!............ It is Maria!"

It can help, just sort of asking for help from someone that will not laugh, in a psychological sense.

If you don't believe, fine
So you don't believe it works.
You believe it doesn't.
Other people believe it does.

It has nothing to do with me.
I repeat, I was just quoting that person who said "it does work".
You can believe praying works, I'm ok with that. But you can't aver it does.
As you said, yea it's a matter of faith. There is no proof about events occuring thanks to God.

Can You Say OBSESSED:
Yes it does, because you are the one saying "prove it, that doesn't mean it does, faith doesn't matter, etc...,"

Where did I say that?
Find the sentence where I said "faith doesn't matter".

Can You Say OBSESSED:
There's no proof it doesn't, but when you believe it doesn't, it doesn't.
When you believe it does, it does.

I thought I was in Specific Discussion forum..

You can't discuss faith.
...you can too discuss faith. If you couldn't discuss it, this thread wouldn't have lasted 20 pages already.

Honestly, I don't believe praying works. I used to pray when I was younger, but they never worked then, and they still don't work now. In my opinion, if prayers worked and if there was a god, he'd have helped/spared at least one of the 20+ people I've prayed for in my lifetime. 10 of which being this year alone.

I just don't believe it anymore.
