| February 10th, 2006 at 03:41pm Bloodraine:HavingAGreenDay:And no, I will never tire of writing. It's something I'm great at, and I highly enjoy. So don't tell me I will change. You don't know me to be saying that. Case-closed.
My, my, Mademoiselle. You do have a high opinion of yourself. I mean, I'd love to say I had the confidence to tell you all what a fantastically talented young writer I am, what a great career in journalism I will have when I'm older, and how brilliant I am in general.
But the fact is, well, there is no fact. There is only my opinion. To conclude, only the foolish may attempt predict the future. To assume that in this unplanned, unwritten future, there will be no change, no break, no difference, is most naive. I do like to get philosphical once in a while, don't you? My, my, Mademoiselle...
I'm sorry, that sounded very nasty. I don't wish to talk to you anymore. You're too unfriendly, and like I said you know nothing about me to be commenting on I as a person or what my likes or dislikes are.
Also, it is very offtopic. |

It wasn't intended to be nasty... and like I said you know nothing about me to be commenting on I as a person.
One final question...If you feel you have a great talent for writing, why didn't you want to be an article writer?. That position surely offers more scope to showcase a talent such as that. |

I just don't have enough time. I like to update my own stories most every day. Plus editing stories and doing the dictionary job, which by the way I need to tackle again.
That's why... |

Shame...I'm sure you'd have done a commendable job. |

| February 10th, 2006 at 04:20pm When did this become an argue about what HavingAGreenDay should or should not do on this site. She fucking wanted to edit stories so she applied for that job, that's it. It's nobody's bussines but hers if she wants to edit, write articles, do song meanings, or any other thing. I thought this thread was about how some sotries are good but have a terrible grammar and how some others have a lack of a good story line or something....
And I find it curious that you didn't reply to my previous message. I wonder why's that.... |

I actually didn't reply because I thought your post didn't require it...Seemed pretty good to me. |

I don't see why Bloodraine concerned herself so much with what I do on this site. I'm a Story Admin. plain and simple. All I said was that some of the editors are lazy. That's quite a factual thing to say, considering half the stories on the site, don't get touched when they are authorized and posted on the site.
Like you and I have both said Cristhyne. |

 | February 10th, 2006 at 04:40pm Oh, I give up.
When all of the editors get sacked for being lazy, then you may gloat. And not before. Just leave them be, if they wern't dping a proper job, they'd be removed. |

I just know I have a right to discuss it, if there is obviously a problem. Which there is. |

Well then feel free to gloat...I did say you could if I was wrong, which I now appear to be. I'm used to being a scapegoat by now.
Better luck next time with finding good editors and I hope that the next ones you get are more efficient. |

We're agreeing with reason. Don't tell me to stfu!
Rolling eyes doesn't help anything...Emoticons are the last garrison of an uncreative mind. This thing is just going to escalate, now...
As a point of information, I believe all story editors do a good job (not just the new ones). Also, I'd like to put forward a question; what would you rather have?
An awfully punctuated story with no capital letters etc, but a brilliant plot?
Or a perfectly punctuated stroy with a bland and dull synopsis?
I, as a reader, would prefer the former. We sometimes loose sight of what is really important, don't we?
True, but there are so many plots that people just can't stand reading because they are impossible to read. No commas, no periods, nothing. Just lots and lots of run ons. and no quotation marks either. it sucks. i want to read them but i cant without wanting to kill someone. |

You have that figured out though of course.
They make me feel exactly the same way, by the way. I feel if a story is absolutely impossible for one of the editors to edit, then it should be deleted. It does not appear that this is what the editors are doing, when they really should be.
No GSBian should be subjected to a story that makes them feel suicidal. |

No, I'm sure the editors are doing their jobs. Theyve got a lot of stuff to do. But imagine a story with so many errors that by the time the editor is 95% through, there's even more. And anyway, the editors arent second grade teachers. People on this site should know how to type more coherently. Either that, or they get their story back full of red ink with a big F in the top righthand corner. |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | February 15th, 2006 at 04:54am Bloodraine:HavingAGreenDay:I've been doing it for almost a month and a half. That's plenty amount of time to get bored of it. I'm not about to get bored of it, because writing and such is a very important part of my life.
A month and a half is not much...I have relatives who have been doing the same job for 60 years.
Trust me. I'll come back to you next February (if you haven't left GSB by then). I'll write a memo or something to remind me...and I'm going to ask you if you're still as enthusiastic, eager and ready to work as you were on your first day of editing.
Either that, or some very experienced story editor around here will maybe back me up.
I was editing for about 8 months before my computer packed in, and that was before we had that nifty little fix errors button. I had it when it just had a little number instead of an author, that's how old skool I am, and yes, you do want to kill yourself after a while, but then you know, you remember how lovely Dujo is and make the sacrifice to help him out.
And I will tell whoever I want to stfu, I won't be bound by you! *runs around with protest sign* |
