because I want to wait until I know that I'm going to carry on with it. Please tell me what you think of this,
be it good or rotten, and tell me if I should keep going or give up now.
“Welcome to Oakland, CA and please enjoy your stay here.”
Bean made a face.
“How do they know that we’re only here for a ‘stay’? We could be moving here for all they know. Or we could already live here and be returning from a holiday in England. Or Thailand. Or, like, anywhere else in the world.”
Blaire gave a small chuckle. “Get used to it. People will make assumptions about everyone else’s situation whether you like it or not. It always has and will be that way.”
“You’re too laid back. Well, not exactly laid back, I can’t find a word for it though. It’s like; you just accept everything the way it is. If something bothers you then you tend to just accept it and move on.” Bean said. “I can’t do that. If something annoys me I at least need to rant about it for a bit even if there isn’t anything I can do to change it.” She gave Blaire a long hard look and then sighed to herself. “You’re too Blairey.”
Blaire chuckled again. “Well at least I’m just ‘Blairey’ and not anything too weird. ‘Blairey’ isn’t too bad.”
“Come on. Let’s get going, we don’t want it to start getting dark before we’ve found a place to stay.” Bean bent down, picked up her rucksack and guitar case and began heading towards the main exit of the building.
“Dude, it’s like 2 O’clock. I doubt it’s going to start getting dark anytime soon.” Blaire mumbled as she picked up her rucksack and instruments and reluctantly began to follow her friend out into the hot Californian sunlight.
