Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 76615 | March 22nd, 2006 at 06:52am I only remember seeing a small bit of the film in an English class once. I think it was year 9 when we did the diary of the girl from Sarajevo (I can't remember her name at all) and parts of Anne Frank's diary. I've read it twice away from that too. I think it's sad because she's so innocent, especially before they go into hiding and she's talking about her birthday and not being able to ride her bike or sit in her garden, and then it gets to what happened to their family and friends and it's horrible. |

I think its the third, there was a poll done a few years ago on the most read book, 1st was the Bible, 2nd was Lord of the Rings. |

We're learning about the whole prejudice thing in english next week, and so far...I find it terrifying. The things people would do back then to some people. So sad. ;;_;; |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 897 | March 31st, 2006 at 07:25pm I read the book in grade 6, well the teacher read the book, and back then I was too immature to understand, because all I did was fart with my friends. Now i'm in Sec. 3 (Grade 9) and I would really not mind giving it a good read. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2462 | April 1st, 2006 at 05:04am I've always wanted to read the book from around 9 years old, the story just seemed so inspiring and moving but i never got the chance. But last year in my RE lesson we were doing about how jews were treated in WWII and we got to watch the film. I thought it was a good film and was able to capture the emotions well, i hope to read the book soon! |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 16757 | September 16th, 2009 at 08:14am I read the diary (in Dutch) a couple of years ago and I wasn't impressed by it, I thought it was boring & to me she seemed like an ignorant arrogant little girl. though the events that took place were off course really very sad. |
