It just depends on the kind of music you play with it, and also the use that you do with it.
Also, you don't need a Gibson Les Paul or anything like that, if you only play once in a blue moon..
If you're in a band, if you daily play, it's understandable. If not, there's not point in having an expensive guitar.
It's not 'cause you have an expensive guitar that you play well, and it's not 'cause you have a cheap guitar that you suck.

It's not an awesome guitar, I'm not an awesome guitarist: I just play, every 2 days, as a pastime. And that's really enough for me.
