According to MTV. At least, I think that's what they said. Beating out the Dixie Chicks. |

 | June 11th, 2006 at 10:19pm Damn. I hate Indiana weather. I let the Tivo/DVR thingy tape the AFI performance in NYC last night so I could help out a friend with a problem and watch AFI later. There happened to be a big storm that rolled through last night, and apparently was causing the satellite dish to mess up. Which, in turn, caused the AFI performance to mess up.
When they were playing Miss Murder, the TV screen just went blank, and it would do that off and on throughout the rest of the performance.
Stupid storms. Stupid weather. Stupid Indiana.
But the parts I did get to watch were, naturally, AWESOME! |

Since I heard 'Days of the Phoenix'
Like 99% of all AFI fans I guess you could say it was around the time STS came out, but I didn't buy that right away. The first AFI album I got was The Art Of Drowning.
I listened to it, liked it, and then forgot about them for sooo long.
Haha. I feel so old skool compared to all these cool newbies. |

Haha. I understand that. That's how I was with Green Day...
But anyway, I actually remember hearing "Days if the Phoenix" a while ago. When I was first really getting into rock and punk music, I would just chat with random people on the internet about what bands they liked. One guy that I talked to was obsessed with AFI and Rites of Spring. He sent me a file for "Days of the Phoenix."
Then, my computer died, and I just kind of forgot about them until "Girl's Not Grey" started being played. I loved the song, and every song that followed, but never really went anywhere with it.
Then, about in April of this year, I had "Silver and Cold" stuck in my head and was finally like, "Screw it. I'm going to the record store and buying Sing the Sorrow."
And I did. Then, when I got my last paycheck from work, I bought Answer That and Stay Fashionable, The Art of Drowning, the one with all the different songs from their Nitro days, and also pre-ordered decemberunderground. (They were all really cheap, that's why I got them. I seriously spent maybe $30 total on all of them.)
And that's my AFI history, I guess |

I really don't know.....it probably has something to do with my Church's youth group being called "Fire" or something.....ha |

I actually agree. When I went to a church camp, they always talked about having "Jesus Christ's burning fire inside your heart" all the time. |
