It was a pleasure to burn. I was a pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world, the blood pounded in his head, and his hands were the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of the blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history.
Ray Bradbury is a genius.
Weird idea though...censorship...but I thin khe was aiming for the idea that humanity will destroy itself, then, like the pheonix, rise form the ashes and start over. I guess it could say that humanity will repeat their mistakes... |
