Green Day is still Green Day. Some people consider AI political, some don't. I don't.. like Billie Joe said, "Holiday is not anti-American, it's anti-War". So pretty much it has nothing to do with America and politics..war isn't exactly political, is it? I donno..
All I know is they've made an album waay worth buying, it actually has meaning, unlike Dookie/Kerplunk!, getting high..masterbating..love..boredom, etc. Though they were such good albums as well.

Well war is political. But, yes, AI has a meaning, but I think their older albums were better, some songs had meanings.

A.I is still green day. i like it for that. but if you think about it there are some political tones but i dont think its really enough to consider it a political album, although it does make you more interested in that crap

I believe that music wasn't brought to the Earth to show opinions on Politics.

They can show it by saying it in interviews or something like that, but I still think political music is dumb.

Once again, music was not brought to this world for Political opinions, it was brought for emotion and opinion on life situations and feelings. At least that's what I think.

Eh They're not a boyband, they write song for their selves, and it's how they feel.

I don't think american idiot can be called a political record at all. It's got three semi political songs on it at most.

In my opinion it takes more than just a "Fuck Bush." mantra for something to be classified as political. Give me reasons, give me socially aware issues in your songs and then I'll classify it as political. But I just don't see that in American Idiot, but then again that's just me.

Politics are just a bunch of assholes and dickheads trying to run the country. Green Day's American idiot album is viewed as a political record, I don't think it should be viewed as a full political album. It really isn't all of that.

AI is a great CD, but politics isn't their place. They should sing about other stuff.

and that is because you are narrow minded and immature and most likely cant accept the fact that they are going to grow up eventually.....

I dont mean that in a nasty way as i know you are going to take it...but thats the way i think about anyone who says they dont like the new stuff or would rather them singing about the things the did on Dookie.......You should be glad that they sing about things that matter and did grow up but still in a Green Day sorta way............They are still the same old guys they were when they put out Dookie but with families and they are getting older.....I have said this a million times They would sound ridiculous if they were still singing about the same stuff all the time that they did in their 20's................By being the way they are they have allowed us to grow up with them and not grow out of them...............If you are mature person who doesnt get stuck in an age rut you would grow out of them fast if they still only sang about masterbation, drugs, bordom and more masterbation

it's cool if you grow up
it's even cool if you can sing about it like Bob Dylan or something

it's retarded when you try to force yourself to sound political and intelligent when in reality you're a dropout being cheap by investing in the billion-dollar Bush-bashing industry like Green Day Eminem, or Kanye West
