This one's a little...shaky. Writer's block.
Tomorrow's future rebels. Today's fashionable lies.
Scrawling rebellious anecdotes across the spine of their
high school diaries just so they can carry them like a conscience.
A social fad. A personal disfunction for the sake of acceptance.
When rebellion was always about standing alone, that solitary
fist raised beneath a shooting star, auroras of possibilities.
They whine for revolution in premature voices. Tin with inexperience.
Scratching like manicures down blackboards, high heels on gritted pavements.
And they scream for anarchy. They don't know what it means but it sounds so cool
from the lips of an ink-spotted rock star on the candy-glazed television.
They don't know what their condemning for the future. All they know
is that protesting produces that adrenaline high similar to the drugs they abandoned
when the seventies flash-back fevour died out. Next to their flairs. Their attitudes.
So easily adoptable. So much easier to discard in their overnight fashions.
An ungoverned government. Petrol bomb defiance. Toxic skylines.
They'll inflict whatever they can on the future for the sake of their trends.
The grit on the streets are their new mascara highs. Beautifully tainted.
Each repercussion a memory of mohawks, fatigues and the embarrassment of caring.
And only Fate can help the future at the hands of our superficial anarchists. |
