Suburban Messiah

Sitting in his attic on that rainy April day
he pondered it as he had done many times before
The Rain was falling, like tears from Heaven.
He bowed his head allowing his moppy blond hair to cover his face
while tears fell from his blood shot blue eyes.
He struggled to write his last words to Boddah
saying it's better to burn out than to fade away.
The needle pierced his skin draying the pressure from inside him.
With shaking hands his placed the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger.

The faithful mourned the death of the Suburban Messiah,as his wife read his last Sermon
His face adorned the cover of magazines.
Years have gone and still the masses adore him.
He is their Savior garbed in flannel and yet,
they seem to have forgotten that he drove his own nails into himself
. . . Nevermind, he was not full of All Apologies.
