Why, may you ask? This will be my 100th poem.
Yes, I need a social life. No, I really could care less.
I actually wrote this little comment before I started the poem…simply because I a) have not yet thought of something write about XD and b) after the poem I just wanna sit there and take all of this in without having to worry about this.
Now I definitely could not have gotten here without many, many, beautiful, talented, influential, skilled writers on this site. This poem is dedicated to the following poets; you’re all amazing writers, and I look up to every single one of you, you guys are just beyond words...:
Inari, Snowcherry, International_Idiot, What’s In A Name?, High_On_Juicy_Fruit, Flawless Error, Saint of Denial (Krysta), Morbid Rose, Ella, You Can’t Sell Feelings, and last but not least, one of my closest dearest friends, Jordyn Snider, whom recently stopped writing poetry. This is a futile attempt to get you to keep writing, PLEASE do so.
I shant waste your time no longer, enjoy!
Blues Eyes Formatted To Be A Decoy (100th Poem)
The perfection obtained is a
lie restrained deep inside your mind.
The disdain, the contempt, the accumulating demise
The flawless conclusion to a dead end surprise.
A rhyme without a reason, a song without a key;
All events leading to a world you couldn’t see;
Veiled behind the curtain, the sheet of crimson ice;
The unrevealed were waiting for the broken battle cries.
The victory was foreseen, but yet we have forgotten.
Erased the mindless thoughts that were surreal,
surreal but corrupted.
Visions engulfed by the land and by the sea;
The raging tempests of tidal waves,
clashing beneath the reality of all we’ve yet to dream.
But dreams cannot come near,
not with the crooning insomnia at our blackened bays;
The chasms of our destruction were deceived from better days…
The refrain of distortion, the harmony of loss.
The orchestra of obscenity is our single sacrifice;
Seek out the memories and guard them with your heart;
The last dangling sinews will remain by your side, ajar
to the petty side roads, the beggars on the street;
the ones who simply asked for food
you spat back at their feet.
Abuse, mistrust, compassion turned to grief;
Stare in wonder at the skies,
with questions morphed to useless ‘why’s’.
The words that could be actions,
that could change our murder, our betrayal;
What once was will never be;
The massacres are growing,
fires ablaze on the bitter streets;
Nod in compliance to your “heightened” feat;
For no cruelty could reach your level;
You sink farther and farther into your brutal sea;
An ocean of calamities that bear no name;
No deadly identity, just a poison to inject in bloodless streams;
To infest, to deject, to defect our ideals;
Mutate into apathetic emotion;
The empathy of scars,
the lacerated droplets of wounds,
the anguish that received nothing;
perceived nothing but the war hawks,
screaming above their ruthless heads.
The machines of death have yet to rejoice;
For we are not yet vanquished, we have yet to be destroyed.
You can shun away the truth,
but you can never block our voice. |
