Written for my father, because he's done so much for me, and I'd be an idiot not to reflect on it before he's gone.
Looking back to the beginning,
All I ever saw was a blur,
A blur of what would become trust and love
These visions are still here
A flood of despair ran through my mind
When I realized there wasn't enough time
You'd be long gone before I knew what hit us
Leaving me falling to pieces in the end.
But you're still here for a while longer
I don't know how I'll move on without you
I'll be dead, emotionless, and frozen in memories
Wishing you back with regrets of the past.
You're not going to haunt me,
I'll appreciate your presence when you're gone
I'll live like you'd have wanted me to all my life
And I'll never betray your trust again
Not even if you're gone. |
