Flaming Phalanges! Basket Case
Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | May 21st, 2006 at 12:17pm This band is an Essex Punk/Rock/Pop band with a difference - THEY USE THEIR OWN ACCENTS!
But yeah, basically, their main influences are Green Day and Blink 182 so think along those lines. They really are an excellent band, and on June 5th they're releasing their world cup song, Stand Up For England, the majority of the profits are going to Barnado's, which is a children's chairty that aims to give under privilaged kids a better start in life.
You can hear their music at
www.myspace.com/koopa
www.myspace.com/standup4england
and their main website is www.koopatheband.com
They really are worth a listen and please please please download the single via text or buy it in the shops when it comes out, even if you don't like it, because the profits go to Barnado's and they're lovely boys anyway so yeah.
If you've read up to hear then I send you some love <333 |

When I was in Baltimore on my field trip the other day, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and they had a TV with all these bands playing. And Koopa was on there playing 500 Miles and I was really excited. |

But give it a year or so and they'll be out there. And maybe Linford too if he's still alive. God I've spent many a rainy evening sitting in that van eating sweets and laughing. *sigh* |

If you haven't heard, Koopa were the first unsigned band to get into the UK top 40 and a lot of the press have been clamouring to get their hands on them and that.
The single was Blag Steal and Borrow and it ended up at 31 in the charts, which was due to downloads alone.
Also, in other news, the band are gonna be playing SXSW in Texas and they're going to try and get some dates in NYC, San Francisco and LA while they're out there.
You can have a look at other gigs on their myspace, and that, which is listed in the first post. They're definitely worth going along to see so yeah.
I think I'm more or less done now. |
