Television

We'll stare at the TV
and start to cry
or laugh in its face
but I'll never know why

Because on the next channel
people are dead
and the world's so sick
it messes with your head

We'll try to find meaning
in a thirty-minute show
where families are happy
and love's always aglow

Some of us will learn
and we base our lives
on hugs and kisses
covering the knives

This useless consumption
a fake picture we see
I know the TV
but it doesn't know me
