I read the graffiti
In the bathroom stall
Like the holy scriptures of a shopping mall
And so it seemed to confess
It didn't say much
But it only confirmed that
The center of the earth
Is the end of the world
And I could really care less
.. Well, Billie saw it was written "Billie Joe must die" on the bathroom wall at Gilman St. And it killed him.. but then he realized he was in his best time (center of the earth) and he sarcastically says "Is the end of the world" And then.. "like he could give a shit"

Were as Kerplunk is more light hearted, though it has it's dark places.
It's strange because I can't seem to find any reason or anything in Billie's life
( other then signing to Reprise and his 80 issues)
that would cause the change in his writing style. lol |

At the end of another lost highway
Signs misleading to nowhere
Rodeo was just like 2 miles above this highway (Hwy 4 to be exact) that like whenever I say where i live (which is off that highway) people give me a wierd look (like where the hell is that) it goes all the way across Cali. and just driving on it gets you really lost. |

I remember reading somewhere that since he was officially signed to a Major Label he wanted to really focus on his song writing skills and he said he wanted to focus on lyrics that was more for the general audience and teenagers. I think Kerplunk was just him expressing his feelings where Dookie was where he acutally sat down and focused and had a plan of what he wanted to write. |
