Sequins and Textbooks

Well, I wrote this for my English teacher; she just got married, and I might not see her again after this week. So I gave her a present


She's a literary angel with the masses at her
feet - budding poets, skilled storytellers, and
class clowns. You can't craft academia and
language skills without first taking a step
back, submitting to the ridicule and taunts
that come with the scene.

Balancing career defining grades on the edge
of a scratched ballpoint; the statistics of
a generation. The works and masterpieces
created by her angel minions only flourish
because of her skill, and fondness for
literature. If you want someone to follow
avid teachings, you need to first plant the
taste of passion and success. Bury it deep
into the roots; it never hurts to shower the
leaves in poetic words.

Not your conventional sweetheart, but she'll
lay her heart down on her desk and bear her
sickness. It's always the sensitive souls
that become racked with nerves, poisoned
with tremours of anxiety...

You'd never imagine, that under the collected
facade is a beautiful bride and blonde haired
darling. A picture perfect girl under a veil
of sequins and textbook - never judge a book
by its cover.
