Evening’s darkness begins to disturb
the sprawling sky’s sunset. We always used to sit here—
patient, waiting for the fog and spring’s perfume
to etherize the cooling air. Those were the nights
just after the smoke stopped curling around the chimneys
in such perfect fronds. The times when indecision
didn’t matter, and after an argument, we could sit
with some tea wishing for the beach so we could
watch for mermaids, or slip down the street to the diner
with the sawdust on the floor where we’d stare
at our grimy coffee spoons and fill the silence with
our voices lifted in that love song they always play.
Those were beautiful days, where we could drown
in happiness by the water, smelling the seaweed and watching
the crabs scuttling on their ragged claws into the silent seas.
That was a scene of calm excitement, the way our hearts
swelled with the tides, and we swam fully clothed in
those tattered old trousers. I think we spread the happy times
far out, with the sand. Everyday I comb the beach for it.
So far, all I’ve found is oyster-shells.

I swear, my whole gimmic is that I try to create an atmosphere, then you just say something about nature and it's 4523643635462646236844453445236 times better than anything else I've ever seen
and not all of the imagery is of nature!
how incredible you can pull it all off with such little....words
the only problem is that it doesn't look to appealing when first opened (some one who hasn't read your poetry yet might not want to read two blocks of your greatness....they haven't experienced it yet.)
I can't get enough of your unique imagery-atmospheric poetry. I'm glad to have met you.
