Of course they could if they wanted to, but I dont think they will.
Every artist changes their sound a little for each album, but I don't think they'd go too hard rock-ish

i agree with you. Smile

Even if they did change, I doubt it would be good. Any post-Nimrod Green day is horrible anyway (IMO)

I mean, why would they?
Punk is their kind of music... why would they suddenly start playing hard rock?
I know they have done changes (Warning etc.) but they wouldn't turn hard rock, I think.

They wont but they could pull it off. Any band/singer can change their style they have a talent for music having such a talent means they can sing in any style and play in any style not just oh im talented in singing in a punk/rock style.

Yes! Theres a huge chance that they will. Well not so much "hard rock" of sorts, just less 'punk rock' and more 'rock rock', as they've shown they can pull off on American Idiot. I feel a mix of the two would be fucking perfect on the next album.

While all these kids will be like "omgzz SO not punx innit" I'll be ecstatically happy if they go for a rockier side of them for a while.

sum 41 have always been hard rock. and that's pretty much just because Dave (their ex-guitarist) was a metalhead.

I like hard rock, but I don't see Green Day's music being that way. Their music is fine the way it is.

I can't really see Green Day going hard rock. Even with the way their music has evolved it's not really going in that direction. In my opinion at least.
