One of the greatest female fronted rock bands of all time, in my opinion. www.nightwish.com BIO: here DOWNLOAD: Nemo, Wish I Had An Angel, Ever Dream, Dead to the World, Dead Boy's Poem FOR FANS OF: Within Temptation, After Forever I love this band so much. They're so ethereal, so strange but with such a great sond. I'm not expecting many to like them here, they're very weird, for lack of a better word. Tarja [ex-lead singer] was booted out in October after 5 albums and a few DVDs [I think] because of her behaviour or something ... Well, I really like this band. Anyone else?

Yeah they fired Tarja because of her new diva attitude, but the guys are busy writing new songs and trying to find a new singer

She was being all a diva and the rest of the band signed a letter [Tuomas wrote it, methinks] displaying their feeling towards her behaviour, and she was booted out. It came to a point where she was going to cancel a massive arena show in Oslo, one of their biggest that they were going to do, simply so she could rehearse for her solo project.

I mean, if it weren't for Evanescence I'd probably not be here [not dead just not rock loving] but Nightwish have a stranger sound and have been around for longer. But this is a Nightwish thread :]

Nah, you wouldn't think it would you? xD I wouldn't even call it metal, to be honest. My definition of metal is proper shouting and killer riffs, not a bit of riff and opera, but it's their label tbh.
