Posts: 1958 | July 30th, 2006 at 10:55am Yes, I am back...Sadly as some of you may have seen, I only successfully wrote one poem at camp. It's hard to write at camp, so I'm terrible sorry, and I hope you all remember my poetry D: Well might as well start over, now. This is sort of an attempt to motivate myself since camp brought a dreadful writers block.
Good news is, I went to Punk camp, and we wrote a song, and guess who wrote the lyrics? =] Yep. Moi. I'll be posting the lyrics+mp3, but it may be a few days. Anyhow, enjoy this in the meantime!
When You Thought Authoritative Figures Couldn’t Get Worse
Can’t stop psychedelic corruption-
just the daily dosage of obliterated eruptions,
ripping our skulls oh so thoroughly to brinks of calamity.
Sweat and blood cleave to our static;
our melancholy of our own past and void tragedies,
of crimes undone, what we accused of humanity,
what we have not done.
"Of course," they say, "they can control what you speak,
but never shall they take your identity away;"
The core of ourselves, our fire and our embodiment to survive;
The motivation that is eternal and can never be erased,
what we hide so deceptively in our tarnished burdens,
and never will be destroyed.
For once you contradict individuality,
you cross the borderline of contempt and destruction,
and you will never be revived, for you have no idea,
no way of knowing what lies beyond the
blackened veils of denial and fog,
the emotions that survey this elongated path of obscured visions,
the long awaited destinies that never shone through,
never broke through the clouds since you just had to ruin them.
Oh yeah- destroyer of mentality, bringer of this dreaded apathy which I avoided so long,
but it’s too late, it’s too late, we’re all too late,
we’re fading away with our right to opinion,
it’s burning at stake, burning away,
mentality,
sanity,
