Like a single black bead
Among the white pearls.
Like a stranger, I'm bad news, I'm bad seed,
Like a single black lock among the blonde curls.
Like a dark corner
In a room full of light.
In a crowd full of joy - I wear the face of a mourner.
Like a stranger in a small town - Always looking for a fight.
Like sand between the stones,
Like sorrow that comes after mirth.
Like a pack of white smashed bones
Strewn over the black, cold dirt.
I am everything you are afraid to be,
I tell what no one wants to hear.
I see everything you refuse to see,
When you begin to shiver from the cold - I am near.
I am invisible under my cloak of tragedy,
I am not afraid to feel the pain.
You shut me out 'cuz I do not wear the mask of comedy,
I am not afraid to tell the truth - We live in vain.
