Turn me into you

Stereotypical vampire poem, she wants to be with him, he loves her too much to do that too her, even as he's dying she's too wrapped up in her love to see that

I want you by my side
To love and to hide
I would be tried,
And you would be staked
Oh my beloved creature of the night.

Two centuries on and you’ve found me
I could never of been a wench you watched
Stalked, preyed on, killed… Silently
I was the belle of your ball, amidst your war
You love me with the passion of your centuries.

They will never see that.
You’re evil, a killer… Murdering with stealth of a cat
I’m defenceless, pure, unaware
They can’t see the truth behind the lies,
Only serpents behind your eyes

Night by night I fear no return
I understand I can’t have that life
The perfect one I yearn
You’d be there…
I beg you to turn me, to let me be with you
But you refuse.

I’m here on my knees,
Before you, take me please!
I’m only mortal, with only human emotions
You wave aside what you call a silly notion.
I cry, I plead. You smile, that seductive tease

You’re telling me it’s not a life of romance,
Killing those of purest innocence…
Just to survive, I don’t care about their lives
They’re nothing to what I see for us
You assure me they are, but I do see through the lies

They’re here now, banging, chanting
Screaming, yelling, laughing
Spirits high, torches ablaze
Your eyes fearful in the candlelight,
They know you’re here, stakes raised high

So here we are at this gate,
I’d rather slit my wrists and risk discovering hell
Than leave you here in favour of this wretched fate
To be with you forever, my soul I’d sell
Your last chance, take it, take it, turn me before it’s too late…

I don't usually like vampire poems, unless they're written with time and care they can become very cliched. But this had some awesome images in it; especially 'Two centuries on and you’ve found me
