Loads. I'll give you some.

EDIT: http://snnat17.livejournal.com/7947.html
This one right here ^ has over 5 hundred icon tutorials.

I don't know if you wanted that, or a tutorial to find your workings around
Photoshop, but those should help a bit. =)

On PhotoFiltre, how do I select the mask I'm using to be able to move it?

It's making me feel stupid 'cause I don't know how ><

You mean like this?:

Kurtni:
Moving Brushes to the Correct Part of the Icon
Image
Start with an icon colored, designed, and cropped the way you want.
Image
select the rectangle selector
Image
select the entire icon, the dimensions should be 100x100 px if you do it correctly
Image
select the mask option to open the window
Image
Pick your brush, I chose dots. If you notice it's centered in the middle of the icon. You may like where it is, or you may not, if you don't we can move it. If you want to move it Select ok, so that it is applied to the icon, we'll remove it later and put it where you want.
Image
So, remember how we used the rectangle selector and traced around the whole icon? Well, that is the part of the icon you have selected, so when you apply a mask, the mask will only be applied inside there. So what you want to do is click where the brush you applied was, and drag it to where you want it to be my moving the selection, the actual brush won't move, but now your square selection will be off center, which is what you want.
Image
now that you have gotten the mask where you will want it to be, remove the old one
Image
reapply the mask, and it will go to it's new location, you might have to move it around a little bit before you get it exactly where you want it.
You can do the same thing with any brush, I also did it with the text on my final product..

Do you mean a mask or a texture?

Cause if you mean like a mask above,
you see where it says mode in the mask box?
Well, change it to color. If you don't mean that, tell me. =)

Well, I read through all the pages in this thread and I figured it out xD

Something about how textures are black&white and patterns save the color. So I just put them in the Pattern folder and they worked Con

euuh, i'll ask in here, since it's "photo editing questions and tips".
can anyone make this picture a 100x100 icon, with only ehren and dave in it?
just, you know, cut johnny out and leave ehren and dave in it and make it icon-sized?
don't do anything fancy, just crop it...?
plz...?
'cause it'd make a veeeery sexy icon.
Lick
thanks in advance.

Besides DeviantArt, where can I get Icon textures? You know, like the scratchy ones and the light ones. ..Just a whole range in general.

I know that LJ has heaps, but I have absolutely no idea how to use LJ. I mean, I click the links people give and I have no idea where to go from there. ..So, if I could have some help in that area that would be rad. Coolio

Um... Kay. So let's say you're going here: http://community.livejournal.com/icon_textures/ and you find some textures you like... you click the link they give you, which will probably say "Here" or "Click"... Then when you're there, they'll have a link that will probaly say "Download", so you click that. Now, it might take you to their DA page or a download thing might just pop up. If it takes you to their DA go to the left side of the page where there will be a few links. Click the one that says "Download". Then, click "Save" when the little... box pops up. Then you choose where you want to save them to and... voila =]

And if you want specific textures, like scratchy ones you can use the search on either LJ or DA. Just type in "Scratchy textures" and search.

Sorry, I'm horrible at explaining things but I hope it helps a bit XD

It's probably big because the dimensions are too big.
Try opening it as a new image by itself and resizing it. =)

Because that mask is that particular size; it wasn't made for icons. But, you can still make it fit. You see the box that says "tile image" and "stretch image". If you want that to fit in your picture, you want to set it to stretch image.
