Once you proclaimed to love me

I stupidly thought you wouldn’t take

You were and angel’s only son
But it seems the devil in me won
Your last words were simple as can be

Too bad it came too late
I’d already planned the deed.
I waited for my moment,
I took that knife from the drawer.
You smiled at me once more
Rolled over, and slept, one more piece in this jigsaw
You thought I had forgiven you.
I think you forgot my one bad trait.
I hold a grudge, so of course your punishment was due.
All I had to do was wait.
I plunged the knife into your back

My mind now clear, no longer ablaze

I’m cupping your face with my bloodstained hand
Your life has slipped from me like hourglass sand
You time was up, and I am to blame
Now regretting and sobbing, I carry this shame.

The tables have turned
For guilt and horror, I can’t breathe
So again I choose my weapon
