What about Cyclops and Freedom of Choice. Those were mainstream songs in the time of Devo. Yes but did they hit the number one stop? They don't have to hit number one.
They're still hits. At least I'm pretty sure Freedom Of Choice was. |

Not in Britain. All we got was Mmmbop which was cool for a couple of weeks then became laughable.

Whoever did that one also had a hit with Schools Out - a rather woeful Alice Cooper cover. U.G.L.Y was their second single.
Also, would you class Pink Floyd as one hit wonders? The only single that acheived anything was Another Brick In The Wal (Part 2) which hit the top spot in the mid 70s. Their early singles Arnold Layne and See Emily Play got into the top 20 but didn't really make their mark until years later. Just wondering 'tis all... |
