I wrote this in five minutes or so in algebra class, so don't expect it to be my best...
Or maybe I shouldn't have said that. Tell me what you think, nonetheless.
Peering out into a silent night
With whispers of heart-broken lullabies
A touch of a cheek to a fogged up window
Forehead pressed against the wall
Murmuring silent accusatios to the moon
A tiny sailboat upon the lake
A shooting star above the world
A desolate sorrow in which she weeps
The faeries of dreams long passed forgotten
Sitting atop a fence, smiling down below
Feigned laughter and hidden tears
Lying back in the mists of time
Among the trees of solitude
A tear drops into the ocean, causing a ripple
The thought is diminished; forever is gone. |

You so have not lost your talent. It's as present as ever. I have so missed your poetry. Write more often, you silly goose.  I think I liked the first stanza the best, although I adored the ending just as much. Simply wonderful. |
