Don't Walk In The Rain. Just Get Wet

Blankets spread under rainclouds to catch the beauty in their tears.
Take cover because there'll be crash landings of aquatic kinds tonight.
No, I'm not basking in misery. I'm just camping out for the aftermath
when the air is washed of all the venom and it's easier to breathe
when my choking isn't confused as curses for the mistakes I've made.

There's innocence in this oxygen that I'm craving for my heartbeat
because it's stumbling out of rhythm and pining for its salvation.
Who looks out for the low-lives if they don't open their eyes?
I'm begging you not to sleep on the answer to this one, honey,
because life is strapping on its sneakers, ready to pass you by.
But you always looked so beautiful to me when you smiled just like a
rainbow tracing colour into the night sky, lending faith to dreamers.
And I'm only dreaming with my eyes open, illusions so vivid and pure
that they're burning holes in the night sky for hope to shine through.

Shooting stars like Heaven's skimmed pebbles chased their possibilities
over macabre lakes of darkness while I was still chasing my tail in vain.
Weaving circles while I was thinking straight and getting my mind in knots.
I know I'm not making sense but that was always the story of my strife.
There were years of sleep-walking dreams, but tonight I finally woke up.

Awesome. I especially loved 'Shooting stars like Heaven's skimmed pebbles chased their possibilities
over macabre lakes of darkness while I was still chasing my tail in vain', I thought those lines were gorgeous.

There's really nothing else I can say because they just warp everyone into this world where there's nothing but those words, the speaker of those words and the image playing in my head of these two people laying side-by-side in the woods, wrapped around each other.

And one of them just asks, starry-eyed "Do you love me?"

And gets silence in reply, and just that lack of an answer is the answer. And the speaker realizes.
