The full title is actually:
"Take A Deep Breath, Sweetheart."
The Words I Never Got The Chance To Say.
She had perfected the art of invisibility like
she was the acrobat of mysticism in studious
strokes of caution and blurred degrees of vision.
It had started as a game, taking baths in twilight.
Her hand coiled around shadows but the nightlight
reflected in her eyes like spears of determination.
The tragedy was she was only invisible to herself.
Passers-by thought she was strange, whispering into
the wind but she was listening as the gail devoured
her sentences, leaving her meaningless in the rain.
Every bathroom mirror was glossed with steam as she
breathed harder with every gasp to obscure herself
until her identity was lost beneath a maze of fog.
It had started as practise with shorter steps and
sips of air between barely parted, trembling lips.
She had the passion of magic sealed around her pulse
and she performed the only genuine trick, stripped
of the lies and illusions behind gloves and screens.
With a fistful of dedication and a disregarded life,
she left us with a trail of steam kisses on the mirror. |
