My heart is beating in my stomach.
Echoes throughout my hollow chest.
My lungs were yours to keep,
I kept them clean, they'd help you breathe.
Is it as divine as you imagined?
The beeping of machines,
Death's consistant laughter.
Sweet Lady Death had been watching over you for over a year.
Sir Reaper took his turn.
Remember when we used to talk about staring into the stars?
Now I look up, and see you.
Smiling, for once, finally smiling.
I speak to you every night,
I get no reply, but I know you are listening.
You can finally breathe on your own. |
