Deadly Congress

There’s an internal bleeding in our society
Lethal injections, deadly infections
Tearing us up piece by piece
From the inside out

An epidemic biohazard sweeping the nation
And we stand without medication
Unless there is a cure
For contaminating words

Syllables are weaponized as they turn to lies
Cunningly disguised as hope and
Dreams of a better tomorrow
Which slowly fades away

So do we all have a predisposition for ignorance?
Or has this illness consumed
Both our souls and minds and
All of our free will?

I loved that.

And I doubt you could ever become a bad poet.
