Circus Freak

Structure - courtesy of Sylvia Plath. Inspirations - a night spent watching Lacuna Coil live, and a red headed rocker. I'm really pleased with this one.


Circus performer, walking a tightrope of
stars before your eyes. It's always
been a death wish of yours to kiss the
glass lips of old Jack Daniels and dance

upon the academy floor... this tango was
made for two willing to brave the cracked
ribs and alcoholic sentiments that come
with the scene. Stasis painted in black

and blue, only when your soft lungs
touch the midnight air. The night is young
and the moonshine still. You know that
Lucifer's minions are only fallen angels,

bitter and disenchanted by the concept
of magic. Just wave your pretty wand
and fill another measure before your flesh
meets with the asphalt. Curl against the

contours of my body and sleep away sickly
amnesia; my crimson bed sheets are all the
medicines you'll need. Baby never did
know when to fall into angel arms or to

drink to ocean depths. I'll remember
every satin memory even if your heart
becomes poisoned upon waking beside me.
I know just the cure for a hangover...
