The Shadows I Hide In

Im only a shadow of what I once was
no one knows that but me
I hide in my dark corner
where no one can see me
not even with the light from the candle right next to me
because people see right through me even though im there

I'll never understand why the one I love gives me that look
that look as if he is looking right through me into my mind and soul
and seeing my deepest desires

he backs away from me
I walk towards him
just as im about to reach him
he disappears into the wall to never be seen again

I fall to the floor in sadness
and cry
cry until my eyes bleed

no one sees me cry
for im covered in the darkness of my own sadness


I have cried for far too long
but the tears never stop
hearing HIM will only make the tears stop

so I’ll wait
and wait
till I hear those three words
that I long to hear
I LOVE YOU
those three simple words that I will never hear
or feel

for I hide in the darkness of my own sadness
and ill shall never leave that sadness
because HE is the one who left me there
HE is the one I love with all my heart
HE is the one that will never love me
