Bad days happen after bad nights, no? Don't ask, don't tell

The weakening twitch
in my hands show that
I am not the fidgeter
I was before.

Not a child
but a walking strip
of wallpaper.

Must I bleed to gain
your attention?

My lungs cough out
a putrid yellow
phlegm, I'm drowning.

I feel the salty water
searing at the back of my throat.

I'm drowning.

"You're just a whore,
I can't communicate."

I've been pushed into a deep fishbowl,
the water rising like thick
glycerol, I can't breathe this
thick air. I can't breathe this
water.

Yet I can see so clearly,
your laughing faces,
distorted by the bowl,
like monsters in a haunted house.

"Look at the pathetic girl!
She wants attention, let the
stupid mortal die!"

The laughter;
I hear the laughter at night.
It has a face. A stiff man
with no eyes, no nasal
cartilage, daddy, daddy, daddy.

The moon watches me
suffocate every night,
through the thin
controversial veil of my
curtains. Why should it care?

He's seen this so many times before.
The moon is bored of death.

Those around me, watch the
thick smoke,
chug; chug; chug;
he brings me sleep
in that obnoxious gas.

My friends, where are they now?
They have grown up. Matured.
They laugh with the others.

Except one, my angel.

Yet they want to block her out
of my sight!

They say I should kill my will,
"You'll get nowhere like that!"
They say I should kill her.

I'm going nowhere.

I'm walking along a tightrope.
Below me swirls a sea of madness,
death. I have dipped my toes
in it before.

Not again, not again.
Yet I will, they keep pushing me.

"Exams! More important than your feelings dear!"
That prods, those horrible, horrible prods.

I fall.
Forever falling,
why can't I ever land
and break my crazy neck?

Anyway…It’s very creative and original. Personally I thought it to be blunt at some places but that is of no importance since the poem is so strong. I love the structure and how you could make it flow so well. Great imagery as well. Just brilliant all and all together

It's a quote from teh play I'm reading 'The Crucible', the Rev Hale says that to exorcise Betty. It sparks off a whole witchhunt and it causes the irrelevent deaths of 20 people and anarchy. Gotta love Salem. Anyway...I wanted that as the title as I thought of myself unworthy, in the grand scheme of things to have the homour of living in such a good way...

Thanks, I don't think it as orginal...cause it seems to echo a lotta ideas from my poetic idol (seriously o_o) Plath, like a fishbowl instead of a Bell Jar. Y'know? It was meant to be blunt in places because in the mood I was in when I wrote it. I didn't want emotions, I wanted my life in pure black and white. ...Yeah...

Well, maybe not but I can only compare you to other armatures (namely people on here or who has been here). I realize that it was intentional but it’s only my personal preference, I like it best when poems aren’t just black and white.
