MOVIE: Casino Royale

I forget if Isaid this already, but I saw some of the old Sean Connery ones on TV over christmas, and yeah, he was good, but those films are becoming kind outdated in my opinion. I think Daniel might be better at this point just because it's hard to make a comparison- Casino Royale was epic and mind-blowing, while some of the parts in Diamonds Are Forever were pretty cheesy.

God yes. I mean all those old films (Connery ones) are SO camp and laughable. I mean they are great, don't get me wrong, but Casino Royale was just way more serious, much more seriously acted, very well directed and just more believable. It explains alot about James Bond's personality and Daniel took it on PERFECTLY

Yeah I agree completely. Sean Connery is great- I'm not going to deny that in any way, but I'm kind of thinking out with the old and in with the new. I was slightly critical of Craig when he was first announced, but that was only because I was a big ol' Pierce fan- it was nothing against Craig himself. But he just blew everyone out of the water. He embodies everything a Bond should be, to me. After I saw Casino for the first time, Mom picked me up and asked "Is he better than Pierce?" and I was speechless. I was like "he just blew EVERYONE out of the water. That was a fucking brilliant film." Mom's not a Bond fan, but she came with me to see it again and she came out going "Holy crap that was brilliant". She thought he beat Sean Connery too, and she's a Sean fan.

haha yeah same here with my mum, she's not really all that of a Bond fan and finds them a bit of a laugh, but she thought CR was amazing. I remember coming out of the cinema with my mum, stepdad and mate and allthe way home we were just speechless on how good it was. I had been waiting for this film for SO long, and I was so pleased with Daniel's performance, and like you said, it blew everyone out of the water!

I've a question about the plot though. You know after Bond wins the card game and he and Vesper are having dinner and he starts talking about her love knot? Okay then she gets a message from Mathis and leaves, saying "Mathis needs me". Bond then stands there for a few seconds looking after her, then suddenly says "Mathis!" and dashes out after her in time to see her pulled into a car. Then the whole car chase starts. What made him suddenly realize that Mathis' intent was not honest? Did he see something or was it something that Vesper said or was it something from a previous scene that he'd just realized? I sure hope you can help me, 'cause I've not been able to figure it out and I've seen the film 3 times.

1. he's an agent and stuff xD
2. He knew someone must have betrayed him. (Poker) And only Matthew and Vesper knew that he knew the eye thing of you know, that guy ... I forget his name..

haha yeah. My friends joke around with me and call me Jamie Bond (my name's Jamie) because I've done Bond moves and they just decided to be assholes about it. The other day in track practice- someone threw a shoe at me and I caught it and chucked it back like Bond did with the gun in the opening scene on the crane, and then another time someone was about to get run over by some asshole on a sled and I ran and grabbed them out of the way just in time. Well...needless to say it spread and random kids are like "hey....Jamie Bond!" in the hallways. It's a little strange, but oh well.
