Journey Poem

I have to write a poem for English and hand it in tomorrow. I wrote 2 .. not sure which to use...help?

As a famous songwriter once said
"Teenage angst has paid off well"
I've opened many doors into my past
Tried to cross streets, but they're much too fast

And there are even days
When it hurts to stay
Being captive in the When
Never able to escape the Then

But I'm not even going to deny
And I'm not going to try
To refuse the time when it comes
When I'll have to pack my bags and head for the sun

Some say I've traveled too far
And lived a life filled with char
But maybe that's the way I like it
And I'l lnever have a need for despise

A stitch in time saves nine
But is that really true?
I always tell myself there'll be a time
When I'll forget about you

But still I relive this moment everyday
And tuck it in my pocket at night
I travel backwards every way
Try as I can, I just can't fight

And as I walk that winding road
As a famous songwriter wrote,
"Our shadows taller than our souls"
I seek for heat inside my coat

I find I'm only getting further
From where I really wanted to be
And maybe if I walk a little slower
I'll see all that I need to see

xD When you said Journey poem,I though you meant a poem about the band Journey.
