i was going to go and see Borat two nights ago but i decided to go and see this instead, and i am so glas i did, it was brilliant, Hugh Jackman was in it and so was Christian Bale, who both played great parts and in parts were funny aswell, it is about two magicians that at the beginning of the film were friends and then some thing happened and they fell out, (not wanting to let to much of the story away). Michael Caine also stars in it has a mentor to Hugh Jackman, anyway here is a bit more about the film,

In rapidly changing, turn-of-the-century London, at a time when magicians are idols and celebrities of the highest order, two young magicians set out to carve their own paths to fame. The flashy, sophisticated Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) is a consummate entertainer, while the rough-edged purist Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) is a creative genius who lacks the panache to showcase his magical ideas.

They start out as admiring friends and partners. But when their biggest trick goes terribly awry, they become enemies for life -- each intent on outdoing and upending the other. Trick by trick, show by show, their ferocious competition builds until it knows no bounds, even utilizing the fantastical new powers of electricity and the scientific brilliance of Nikola Tesla (David Bowie) -- while the lives of everyone around them hang in the balance.

Based on the novel by Christopher Priest.

An amazing film. Could have easily sat through it again straight after.

Christian Bale was awesome in it as per usual, quality actor that man. Hugh Jackman was equally great playing a man tormented by obsession.

Mint, mint, mint - couldn't see the twists coming so I was sat there like Shocked
Need to see it again soon! Wow!

My friends and I were supposed to go see Babel, but we arrived late, so we decided to see The Prestige, instead.

I'm also very glad we did.

It was absolutely great.

One of my favorite movies.
I love how in the end, when it all comes together, you think back at all the hints throughout the movie and wonder how you missed it. Confused
My brother put it best, "watch it once to see it, watch it twice to appreciate it".
