She's given up the hiding,
He's given up the fear.
They're giving up the lies,
the life they hold so dear.
Bring on the late nights,
bring on the tears.
They knew he'd expire,
in three short years.
He gave up the razors,
She gave up the knife.
They're giving up the scars,
that made them feel alive.
Bring on the hatered,
bring on the spite.
He knew he was helping her
through another midnght.
Soon he gave up trying.
Methanphetamine showered him with kisses,
because she couldn't.
The lies spilled from his lips
just like smoke.
Soon she gave up hope.
The miles, nine hour difference,
it kept her sane.
He was out there somewhere
just like stars.
Then the cancer caught him.
The beeping of machines keep him sane.
He wishes he could tell her the truth.
That night. That horrible morning.
The news she heard two days too late.
She's given up the razors,
and the tears she cries each night.
Long ago, she'd given up the hatered and the spite.
She waits around until midnight,
and then she quits her life. |
