Self-Intervention

Pardon me,
But I have a new disease;
And I’m sure,
That it’s part of me;
And they haven’t sought a cure.
But it’s dangerous;
And there’s one thing else I know;
It’s contagious;
So I think you’d better go.
Go.
Go.
Go go go.
Go.
Go.
Go.
I think you’d better run.
Run.
Run.
Run run run.
Run.
Run.
Run.

Oh
Oh
Oh.
You’re going to die.

Ah
Ah
Ah.
I’m going to die.

No
No
No.
We’re going to die.

AH
AH
AH!
We need to die for our own arrogance.

Excuse me,
So far I’ve spilled no sick;
And it amuses me;
Your apathy abused me
And your ignorance is thick.
Must I arrest myself,
Quarantine the sun?
Cut off my own head,
Put it on a shelf,
The toxication has begun,
The disease is long from dead.
There is vomit
On the base of the trees;
And you’re standing on it;
And the leaves,
The disease
Begins to spread
And the threat is me,
I’m set,
My illness has no soul;
But I like you and you’re my friend
So I think you’d better go.
Go.
Go.
Go and hide.
Go!
Go!
Go!

Run.
Run.
Run.
Run like hell.
Run!
Run!
Run!

Oh
No.
Go.
You’re going to die.

Gah.
Ah
Hah.
I’m going to die.

Ah!
No!
Ah!
We’re going to die.

Stranger.
Danger.
Anger.
We need to die for ignoring this.

A million windows shatter.
The disease will do more damage
To those who will not help.

Shocked This might possibly be one of my favourite poems of all time. The structure is really great, and I love how you rhymed part of it. I think the middle part is probably my favourite.

There is vomit
On the base of the trees;
And you’re standing on it;
And the leaves,

^ Those lines are wonderful.

I was already a fan of your poems, but this is definitely one I'm going to read more than just a few times. You should post here more often. Very Happy

thank you
I decided that after years of protesting audible poems that I should write one that can actually be read outloud

yeah, I'm actually kind of proud of my new batch of poems (two days ago I wrote ten poems, one of them is a series of about ten poems all by itself, which I'll post tomarrow since you can't post three poems in a day

I thought you'd read the rules? Wink You can't post more than three poems. Which means that three poems are fine. Go ahead and post you third one if you like. Smile

once I'm done uploading my ten poem poem then I'll type up another one I wrote that day and post it

I'm trying to compile all of the poems I wrote that I can stand on my computer so expect to see more this week...at least until I go from manic to completely crashing at the end of the week
then wish that I lose my lighters and razors

Awesome. It isn't easy to read on screen - but it's supposed to be read aloud. I love poems like that. The entire stanza following 'Excuse me...' was pure pwnage, especially 'Must I arrest myself, Quarantine the sun?'
