My Tree huggin hippie poem

It seems like once upon a time, a blur in a fading past
when the earth was clean and beautiful, a site that woudnt last.
It started with the water, splashing on the land,
the waves curled into coils, resting on the sand.
The green blades of the prairies were soft and sharp and long,
blowing in the breeze that seemed to sing a song.
The sky was blue on warm days, the sun was shining bright,
on raining days, a veil of gray would cast the sun from sight.
The animals were settled, the creatures were at rest,
the picture of perfection, the world was at its best.
Then the humans came along, and landed on the shores,
saying it was theirs, though the natives lived before.
Poverty, depression, pollution, hate and war,
no matter how much they had, they always wanted more.
Technology grew stronger, and the mortals did as well,
into a hole, they threw their souls, and it all went to hell.
Greed, anger, the government, the factors leading up
to see how all the hippies sold out, died, or gave up.
The people, they were selfish, ignored what wrongs occured,
so though they reached improvment, new problems began to stir.
Peoples minds grew sicker, murder, rape, and fights,
imaginations shattered if something wasnt right.
PEople poisoned waters, their garbage need be gone,
didnt they see that what they were doing was wrong?
So in a sea of mistakes, the adults lay at ease,
and push it on their children, "Fix our advertisies.
You children are the future, so do as you are told"
They expect us to work miracles, as if we can save the world.
And still, they sit there ignoring whats flashing in their face,
As if they can print it on computers, and simply press backspace.
Their right about one thing though, the youth is all thats left.
So carry the torch towards what you believe is best.
Do all you can to help us, for our time is short and sweet,
do all it is in your will to get others to agree
For those who dont believe us, its you who's first to go,
for just cause you dont believe it, the issues will not slow.
