And the Teenagers video was going to be set at a school, plus with the lyrics being inspired by Columbine and about today's violence-fuelled youth, it wouldn't be appropriate to release it so soon after the shooting.
Like, these young adults were just killed, do you really want to be mourning that then flicking over and seeing a video where they're parading around a school declaring, "If you’re troubled and hurt, what you got under your shirt/Will make them pay for the things that they did."
Ah. See, I don't think like that. Conveniently, others do. I would've released the video, and after the uproar, I would've been all "Oh crap.."
Anyway, at least the problem that would've occurred, is now liquidated.

I dont think that they should put off releasing the new video.
Its not like MCR was all "oh look! A school shooting just happened, lets put out the video for Teenagers!". The release for the video was set way before any of stuff about this shooting happened.
They shouldn't have to deprive us, the fans, from seeing that music video.
I dont know about the rest of you but I've been waiting for this video for a long time...

We like to keep all of you in the loop because although you are fans we see you as our friends...
I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive.
In light of this joyous event, the band has decided to give he and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all of the things a newlywed couple should do.
I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continue to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life.
We thank all of your for your love and support, and know you are all as happy for him as we are.
