Download is the UK's metal festival. THE one and only. Any metal fan who can afford a ticket will be there, in all probability. People go for the metal.

Now I've been to a festival with MCR headlining, and the people there were by far 'mainly MCR fans going'. There were some MCR fans, but people will rarely go to Download just to see MCR. In fact, at no festival I've ever attended, has the enitre crowd been turning out for one band. That is what a tour is for.

So I think the crowd at download will be pretty much 90% metalheads. Reading/Leeds is still an indie/alt festival, with a bunch of Slayer fans, and that was bad enough. Now try a field full of raving metalheads watching their beloved festival being headlined by a mainstream rock band, and I think that will be pretty ghastly.

But yes, it illustrates their fame and I'm sure they'll put on a great show, just not necessarily with the right audience.

I agree, but Australia is filled with the biggest, most inconsiderate dickheads ever. They don't hesitate to tell someone they don't like them, or they think they're shit. Now, Tool were on the lineup at the BDO. Same stage as MCR, so when MCR were playing, all the Tool fans came into the crowd to secure a good spot. Added to that, most of the crowd at the BDO were there just for Tool, and the fact that this was the first time in 5 + years that Tool had returned, well, I was really scared the same thing would happen. But I was really surrprised when people, well, they were assholes, but not marjorly so. Like, they thew stuff, but not a lot. And they flipped off the band, but that was about it.

And the band handle it well, they like it when people hate them, cause it makes them feel like they're still fighting. The avatar that Lik has, is from the Gold Coast BDO, he came out on stage with "FAGGOT" written on his neck because he knew people would hate him, and he wanted to rile them up even more.

I'm going to the UK in june or july so I only hope it's in june because I really want to go to Download. I mean, not just for MCR, all the bands xD
