Mortality

hey all- this is a very rough draft, and I'd appreciate some feedback. It's all original except the phrase "Passion ends in fashion", which is a spin off of the question "Does passion end in fashion?" (10 cool points if you know what that's from). THANKS!

But when freedom is what kills us
You question if it should be

Man such a weak race
Despite what we all claim
When our lyrics outlive us
Who is really to blame?

If someone spoke the truth
And if you still heard a lie
Would you still claim to have no fear?
Or would you finally realize…

But once it’s stopped it won’t turn again

If you were the one to make the world end

How would you know compassion?
If that’s what it means to be human
Then passion ends in fashion

I hope it all works out like that
Because I won’t be there

Put your mortality back on
And see if it fits alright
