Jemima

I wrote this about someone I know. She's not really called Jemima, but it's easier if it's not her real name. It's a bit of a mess of imagery, but whatever.


Nostalgia screams like an stale wound,
That burning ache of acidic memories and
Oxymoronic beautiful words are a blank page;
You speak nothing and all at once

You’re lost in the current,
Your persona washed off

We could stand in a room and scream emptiness,
Ash tears of mourning blackening the tension miles;
There is a lot of ice in a barricade of flame, and
We grieve for paradise not reality

You’ve forgotten our names etched into that desk,
You’ve misplaced that snowy winter spark

You’re a paradox of screaming plague;
My session sister now a lock servant of Medusa
This was supposed to be a birthday candle
But now you’re just feeding the fire

I adore it. I'm not just saying this, but it is simply amazing. You have almost perfect imagery, the flow is good and you can see what you're feeling.

I love that part especially. The whole poem is really good though, the imagery is awesome.

From the first few lines I was completely ensnared. Definately one of my favourite poems on the boards in a while; I can't pick a favourite line because it's beautiful. The imagery you use is just... wow.
