Than we knew before, but we haven't learned much.
We still cry the same tears at midnight,
we still dread the moment when supposed to have fun.
Haven't seen each others eyes for months,
and I'm starting the next year with caffeine and a hope.
Not so much a new page, just a dream for a new start
Leave it all behind, we'll drink more than ever,
We'll hold on harder than before and lose our thin thread of trust.
The bitemarks on our lips will be deeper than ever
Wrapped up in a chaotic rhyming, and an empty mind, we'll again reveal our secrets
Pretend that I'm never hurt, never scream my thoughts and lie that I missed it.
Two more hours and our kisses are last year
I miss you's and I only want you of the stolen memories
For no reason that I knew, we've left with more this time
We've left with more and hopefully won't fall
The heat is still there, it's waiting for us
And when the lights go out, you'll see that it was worth it |

But otherwise, I really liked this. 'Wrapped up in a chaotic rhyming, and an empty mind, we'll again reveal our secrets' had to be a favourite line of mine, but overall it was a really awesome read. 
And I liked the atmosphere the poem had. As a poem about New Year it had more of a quiet, hopeful sentiment than out and out joy. I loved that. |
