Sightless cause of blurry vision,
caused by a stabbing flow of tears.
She fell onto a bench, breathless.
Alone in the world.
Her scarlet dress turned black in the rain,
Her eyes red from heartache.
Now crawling into the woods.
At last she got onto her feet,
Found support against a tree.
Their tree of eternal love.
She caressed the rough bark.
Reminders of time passed and spent,
How years had gone by.
It seemed frightening.
But she wasn't crying anymore.
The rain had washed away her sorrow,
It had drained her of the numbing pain.
The thoughts stayed within the tree,
And she could now walk away. |
