First CBGB, then Camden Stables Market, now this. It's horrible. I cannot believe a place like that would be demolished for another shitty office building. It's really obvious that times are changing for the worse when places like that are being shut down. |

Horrible stuff. I don't understand...why don't they tear down something...I dunno...useless? We need the Hammersmith, I think. I haven't even gotten to visit it. |

 | February 10th, 2007 at 11:07am My Physics teacher and I are really close, like constantly talking about bands and stuff, and we both made petitions for CBGB's and always chat about how demolishing the history of our punk herritage is a crime and all. About how Desmond Dekker died and the Sex Pistols rightfully agreed not to appear at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

 | February 27th, 2007 at 04:45pm Dunno why, but this almost made me cry when I read it: The Good, The Bad And The Queen are playing the last show at Hammersmith Palais, according to the forums on their website. It's gonna be sad for Paul. |

That's a reather nice article, and sad.
Which reminds me, does anyone know the setlist for the last concert? Or at least if they played 'White Man' because I'd love to know that it's chords echoed around the venue one last time... |

High Fidelity Falling In Love With The Board
Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 7797 | August 15th, 2007 at 08:24pm OK, so I just went on TG,TB, & TQ message board and I'm absolutely ecstatic.
QuoteMissed John Cooper Clarke due to various circumstances, but Don Letts' DJ set was I thought really good and funny to think this is the guy who used to provide the music for the original punks down at the Roxy and YES he did play White Man In Hammersmith Palais and YES it did bring the house down.
TG, TB, & TQ's set:
'History Song'
'80s Life'
'Northern Whale'
'Kingdom Of Doom'
'Herculean'
'Behind The Sun'
'The Bunting Song'
'Nature Springs'
'Soldier's Tale'
'Three Changes'
'Green Fields'
'The Good, The Bad And The Queen'
'Doghouse'
'Mr Whippy'
They should've played Guns of Brixton. That would've been so fucking cool. |
