Somewhere

First of all, I've missed this place and everyone. It's been too long since I've written any poetry. I seriously think I've lost my talent.

Anyway, I had to write this for University. Let me know what you all think.

Somewhere.

Somewhere it is summer and smiles
grow by rows in tended gardens.
The days stretched on to the horizon
and pocket-book memories are sold in
yard sales for the price of a dream.

The sun marks its territory daily with
one sloping, luminous, oval it takes
twelve hours to perfect. Somewhere,
the parks are decorated with childhood:
past, present, new; glittering like
the blush of a first kiss.

Somewhere, it is summer and the world
is playing but, here, winter rests in
snowdrifts at the tip of each thought.
And, although we miss the laughter
nestling on the tips of tongues,
I prefer the blankets barricading the cold,
the you against the me beneath them
and the eyelashes against cheeks;
asleep, dreaming away the seasons.

Aggggghhhh.

Agggghhhhhhhhh.

It's you. And this is freaking amazing. I've read through it a few times to find faults, but to my initial eye I can't spot anything significant.

If you've lost talent then we're in a lot of trouble. It's got an air to it that feels very professional, but isn't quite honed yet; it's so above amateur poetry but it's still very raw.

I've missed you.

And you haven't been here a while, so you're probably at a loss for thinking who I am.

Everything about that was so beautiful. It reminded me of a first snowfall actually, the way it was all gentle and whatnot. I don't know if you're going to get what I mean at all, but I love you.

Thank you so much for what you said. It's crazy but these comments really made me want to cry.

I've missed you guys so much. It really hasn't been the same since I stopped hanging around here. I miss the buzz of reading new poetry.
