It's strange. After writing that poem last night, I've had so many more ideas. I've missed this buzz.

My clothes still carry the scent
of a memory; a reminiscent blend
of aniseed and something you seal
just below skin level; something
so intricately you merging with
the unclassified - and me.

Every breath against fabric brings
back memories of this slow fall
into summer; the gatherings of sunlight
and repercussions of lethargic days.
And every exhale brings back the last
time I saw you; blue eyes, half-fallen,
watching back and dream-padded lips
against foreheads.

But, now, this bed has swollen in
isolation, tucking double feelings
into a single form until covers
become distant and air folds against
outstretched fingers that reach out
for morning.

I am SO glad to see a poem from you. It's really been too long, dear.

Always great, as usual. The last stanza is really wonderful. The metaphors of the bed are just so unique and wonderful. Awesome.

I know. I kick myself every day I don't write a poem.

And thank you so much. Hug
