Lost their lives this tragic day
We reflect and pray in silence
Wiping tear after tear
We wonder how this will affect us
Throughout the rest of our lives
A sea of maroon and orange
A bow on every street lamp and tree
A candlelight shining bright
As we gather here to grieve
Many questions go answered
What was going through his mind
Why didn't he get help
And spare these 32 lives
Stop showing the killer's pictures
It's only making matters worse
Media get out of here
And let our small town have peace again
Here in Blacksburg we mourn
Across the nation as well
Afterall, we are Virginia Tech
And we will prevail
(I realize this poem really doesn't have that much structure and flow, but it's my feelings about this tragedy and I need to get them out) |

 | April 22nd, 2007 at 06:22pm It is such a heartbreaking tragedy. The flow was alright, but I believe that if you go through and revise it, it will be a better poem.
Good job. |
