I like the spells in Harry Potter. They all seem very onomatopaeic.

Enervate seems lovely and refreshing (which relates to being woken from being stunned)

Mosmordre is dark and makes a vicious noise in your throat (which relates to the dark act of casting the dark mark)

I think pretty much every spell, or at least a large majority of them relates to what it does Con

I think a majority, if not all of them are derived from Latin, French or Spanish.

Voldemort actually means flight of death, en francais (I think) and mosmordre means bite of death, or something like that.

I know Voldemort isn't actually a spell, but it still has meaning. You know.

And I can do french.

Spanish and Latin are not in my excess of talents.

And mine also, cos they get better as they go along, in my opinion, so hoefully this'll follow the trend.

Spells:

Read The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter. All of the spells are in Latin. They are usually conjugated vers such as "I repair" (reparo). There's a list in the book but I can't find the book right now.

And from Enlgish, remember the Langloc Spell (the one that glues the tounge toy the mouth.) Lang, toungue and loc, lock... Has a bit of English
